ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

We welcome artists, musicians from all around the world and within South Africa.

The idea is to give artists the opportunity to stay in a live and work studio within the Woodstock Industrial Centre amongst over 100 other tenants. This project will give artists space and time to create in a new environment, broadening their creative perspectives and enriching their artistic practice. It allows artists to tap into new markets, widen their visibility and have opportunities to network, exchange and collaborate with local and international creatives. We want artists to go home with a real South African story.

Artists will be asked to document and publish their residency progress on individual blogs. They will also be given the opportunity to participate in Write on Africa Community art projects and exhibit their work at the end of their stay in the /A WORD OF ART /ART SPACE.
